Question: I have extremely thick hair that holds water after washing. What is the best blow dryer and flat iron for me? Also what product would I use for softer hair?

Answer: It's really important when you have thick, unruly or damaged hair that you buy top-quality tools. It sounds like your blow dryer and your flat iron will get a lot of use, so it makes sense to invest in the best. Please refer to my post on blow dryers and the materials and features section of my curling iron post to help you learn what to look for.

As far as products are concerned, I recommend you purchase a quality heat protectant to apply before drying and/or flat ironing. For softer hair, I would try an argan oil treatment like Moroccan Oil or Rusk's Deepshine Oil. A deep conditioning mask once a week can also help smooth and moisturize. Also, try to limit flat ironing to special occasions. Frequent use is pretty damaging and creates more frizz in the long run.

  1. Thanks for the tips :) I use Pro Naturals Moroccan Oil hair treatment too and it’s great! and the best blow dryer that works for me is the Karmin Salon Pro Professional hair dryer, that leaves my hair shiny and soft without frizz. I just bought at safrons a great flat iron, it’s the Karmin G3 Salon Pro and I love the results. :)
